Vintage Zuni R.Q. Panteah Turquoise Needlepoint Sterling Silver Cluster Necklace

Up for sale is a magnificent, highly collectible piece of Native American wearable art. This authentic vintage 5-panel necklace was handcrafted by famed Zuni Pueblo jewelers Rosemary and Quincy (R.Q.) Panteah. Quincy Panteah is celebrated not only for his master lapidary skills but also for serving as the Governor of the Zuni Pueblo in the early 1980s. Because both artists are deceased, their museum-quality work is finite and highly sought after by Southwest jewelry collectors.

This beautiful necklace measures a wearable 20 inches in length and the pendant measures an additional 1 3/8". It features a classic sterling silver link chain holding five radiating cluster panels. It showcases the incredibly labor-intensive Zuni needlepoint (petit point) technique. Every single tiny, teardrop-shaped turquoise stone has been meticulously hand-cut, polished, and set into an individual serrated silver setting. The necklace weighs 29.2 grams.

There are no missing, cracked, or loose stones.

Silver & Patina: The sterling silver structural components and chain links are fully secure. The necklace retains its deep, beautiful, original dark oxidation/patina around the silver bezels, which highlights the incredible depth of the cluster work. It has purposely not been heavily cleaned or dipped to preserve its highly desired vintage integrity.
